The IA role at freestyle involves working on projects as part of a team of specialists to create and own the user experience on mainly websites, but increasingly across the digital channel as a whole.
This role will add diversity to a growing IA team and is essential to the delivery capacity of this discipline. As well as the usual activities like gathering user requirements, developing site maps and wireframing, you will be expected to have a good understanding of the relevant technologies, interface design and an ability to work with accounts teams to deliver against account strategies.
You will be working with 2/3 other IAs who have a mixture of specialist skills. For this role we’ll be looking for a core strength around documentation, detail and an aggressive willingness to learn and quickly pickup our way of working.
As an IA you will be responsible for researching and understanding the needs of the client and their audience, planning how best to meet those needs, validating your ideas and communicating to the client and your colleagues how to put the approach into practice.
Key responsibilities
This is a client facing role and as such you will be planning and conducting workshops with our clients, working with users and ultimately shaping architectural solutions for clients.
This is also an internal role taking responsibility for leading and pioneering the information architecture aspect within a project team. You will be able to develop and know how to engage the right people - both project and client - to build relationships to deliver excellent IA. It will also be very hands-on role, working closely to create and deliver accurate documentation and then effectively communicate this.
We need someone who can take responsibility for their work. You should be:
- Comfortable working with clients. You will own the IA process on their projects and with the rest of the team take responsibility for outstanding delivery
- Knowledgeable of the latest technical developments and able to work closely with our technical team to ensure the right solutions are used
- Able to successfully define and run user experience audits or evaluations including the building of prototypes and user testing
- Expert in the documentation of wireframes, site-maps, user flows and persona development
- Happy to work as part of the creative team alongside designers, art directors, copywriters and multimedia specialists
- Able to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Passionate about developing truly interactive solutions that will engage consumers
- Ambitious to grow and develop this discipline within a medium sized agency
